How to communicate the Gospel
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16 (KJV)
The power is in the Gospel, not in how clever you sound. Your part is to say it clearly and kindly.
Start with prayer. Ask God for the right people and the right words, and depend on the Holy Spirit.
Start a real conversation. Listen first. Ask how the person is doing and care about the answer.
Keep the cross at the centre. Everyone has sinned. Jesus died for our sins, He was buried, and He rose again the third day. Salvation is a gift received by believing and confessing Him as Lord.
Share what He did for you. Your story is simple and nobody can argue with it.
Invite a response. Ask, “Would you like to receive Jesus today?” If they say yes, pray with them. If they say not yet, stay kind and keep praying.
Take down their details. Get a name and a phone number, so that someone can follow up.
Say it simply
Pray, listen, share the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, then invite the person to respond.
